Queensland Cricket21-Jan-2002Konica Queensland Fire players Megan White, Tricia Brown, Belinda Matheson and Melissa Bulow have earned selection in the Australian Women’s Youth team, the Commonwealth Bank Shooting Stars.The four players will play in a series of matches next month against theNew Zealand ‘A’ women’s team in Melbourne from February 10.The squad will also play a match against the world champion New Zealandteam before the White Ferns’ six-match series against the seniorAustralian team, the Commonwealth Bank Southern Stars, in February andMarch.Bulow capped her selection in the Under-23 outfit with a century for theFire in their clean-sweep against the Western Fury at Allan Border Fieldon the weekend.White made her One Day International debut for Australia in 1998-99 whenshe was 18 and along with fellow allrounder Tricia Brown and Bulow, haspreviously been a member of the Australian senior squad.Matheson, 18, is regarded as one of Australia’s most promisingallrounders and has enjoyed an impressive debut season in the Women’sNational Cricket League in 2001-2002.
