McFarlane, a U17 England international, is highly-regarded as one of the best left back prospects in the league. He's made 32 career appearances with NYCFC II – the club's MLS NEXT Pro affiliate – and five first-team appearances with NYCFC this season.

The report adds that McFarlane snubbed interest from fellow Premier League side Brighton, as well as German sides in the Bundesliga.

McFarlane has yet to score his first career goal, but logged his first career 90-minute match for NYCFC at the weekend. His club took on Queretaro, and he helped them to an ensuing penalty shootout victory.
