Lille and England star Angel Gomes picked up an unwanted record in the French side's Champions League loss to Sporting Lisbon.

Shortly after Viktor Gyokeres gave the Portuguese side a 1-0 lead, England midfielder Gomes received a second yellow in the 40th minute in Lisbon. As a result, the former Manchester United youngster became the first player to be sent off in the Champions League this season.

Lille went onto lose the game 2-0 as Zeno Debast doubled Sporting's lead in the 65th minute. The 24-year-old Gomes will now miss his side's next monster Champions League game against Real Madrid on October 2.
